  1. I learned the word “petrichor” only relatively recently. Tonya Sanchez mentioned it one of her perfume reviews. Thanks for the reminder to keep this word on the tip of my tongue, and thanks also for the link to Cecil Adams’ Straight Dope, which I used to read in an alternative newspaper! I didn’t realize he had an online column.
